Oh my gosh I can so see Ron Rifkin saying that. "No Sydney, I am your father." It brings a shiver down my spine.
It's all to Darth Vaderesque. JJ wouldnt ruin the integral relationship of the show Jack/Syd. Thats what the show is based on. Vaughn makin googly eyes at Syd is just the icing. I think that the Lauren/Sloane thing could be classified as big shocker to syd too.
Maybe Sloane just THINKS he is Sydney's father. On another note...in my opinion...Alias was not "founded" on the Jack-Syd relationship. Certainly their relationship is one of the most vital, important, true and touching things on the show but it's not the basis. I think that if there is a basis for Alias, it is more about identity. Who is Sydney? Who is she in relation to others? How does she stay true to herself, her loved ones, her beliefs and do this horrendous job she does? I've said it 10 times already..but here I go again...even if jack is not bio-dad..he'll always be Sydney's dad. End of story.
One other thought....Irina could be letting Sloane think he is Syd's dad...it could be key to her endgame
This makes more sense to me than Sloane actually being her father. I think if the writers are going to play that angle up, this would make the most sense.
I don't think Sloane is her father , but it wouldn't hurt for her to think so for a few scenes and Jack to be aware of the possibliable. That would really send the show over the edge. Sloane is responsible for so many terrible things. Danny,Francie,Will, Diane and the hits just keep coming.
Jack IS Sydney's father. The show began with Sydney's conflicted feelings about her own father. Throughout the past two years, it has been inferred that Irina's betrayal caused Jack to go into despair through booze. Sydney always thought of Emily as her surrogate mother - she was so moving when she spoke at Emily's "funeral" - clearly she spent time with the Sloanes when she was younger. Sloane often made mention of being there for Sydney when her own father was MIA. Could it be that Sloane slept with Irina, thinking she was the woman in the Rambaldi prophecy, a prophecy he's been obsessed with for more than 30 years? Maybe Lauren was the product of that liaison and she was adopted by Senator Reed. Lauren appeared in Sydney's world when Sydney became Julia Thorne in Lauren's Covenant world. They were made to switch places....I think this is the path Alias is going down.
It might be that Sloane is Syds father. I remember Irina telling sloane in season two, "... don“t talk to me about your love for my daughter". Sloane is always saying how Syd feels like his daughter.
If Sloane was Syd's dad, that would be creepy in more than one way. 1.Um he's SLOANE?! 2.Sloane is all touchy with Syd...if he was related to her that would be ever more wrong than it already is. 3.Well...he's Sloane. Enough said. Oh, and a note, at Emily's funeral Syd said that she had just met Emily when she started working at SD-6.
Vaughn's dad is William Vaughn who was murdered by Irina Derevko Syd's dad is Jack Bristow. Maybe some are confuse coz Sloane treated Syd as his own daughter. Remember, jack & Sloane used to be the best of friends. Sloane saw Sydney grew up. I've watched Season 1 and 2 over and over again and I'm sure that Jack is his father. I think Lauren knew Sydney all along. And she marries Vaughn to get something and to hurt Sydney more... Lauren is maybe related to the person that Sydney and Jack have hurt before. We still don't know who it is.. Maybe they gonna reveal it on Season 3 finale....
J.A. Vartan that is very reasonable.. good job i thought that this was a dumb topic even though i had one about it..
Yeah you know how Francies double put a camera in the tv in season 2 maybe some bad team got that video and then saw who she loved and they wanted to make her sad and jealous.
I totally agree with your (amusing !) reasoning. I especially like reason #1. I think people may have overlooked that. Seriously, let's all just take a second to think about that..."He's SLOANE?!" Ooo, and I'll add one more reason for the "creepy" factor: 4. Sydney Sloane ?!? I like aliteration as much as the next person, but come on. That's just wrong.
